Integration of dbt with other systems

--

“I could do X with the system but cannot complete Y. What do I do?” The rise of the modern data stack trend caused many vendors to appear focused on one feature to meet a particular business need. But in the last year, the vendors have focused on integrating their tools with existing solutions in the stack.

Even though the research ‘State of Product Integrations at the SaaS 1000’ by Pandium didn’t focus on Data Software-as-a-Service, the research showed that the median number of integrations among the research applications is 15 integrations each which makes many people believe that the trend of the modern data stack consolidation will continue this year.

While working with dbt, I realized that there are some features in dbt such as data quality that I would like to enhance with the existing tools on the market, and that is how I got hooked not only with the integrations that exist between dbt and data observability solutions but also other tools in the stack.

To arrange the tools, I used the classification from the article by Lior Gavish ‘How to Build Your Data Reliability Stack’.

You could find more details on the type of integrations as per the press releases from the companies and companies’ blog posts below.
